Well, I finally took the plunge! I have heard so much about Chocolate Mug Cake that I decided to finally give it a try. I have to admit that I wasnât expecting great results, but I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
The best part about this recipe is that you most likely have all the ingredients in your pantry. The worst part about this recipe is that it can be âdangerousâ because in just a few minutes you can prepare and eat a chocolate cake every single day!!
Here goesâ¦in a large microwave safe coffee mug mix the flour, sugar and cocoa.
Whisk one large egg.
Add the milk, vanilla and oil to the egg mixture.
I substituted applesauce for the oil. Works like a dream in most recipes!
Add your choice of chocolate or peanut butter chips
Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients, still till smooth.
Microwave for 2 minutes.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Admittedly, I got impatient and turned the cake upside down on a serving plate. Most of the peanut butter chips (best part) ended up on the bottom.
Serve while the cake is still warm. It tends to get a little spongy when it cools.
4 tablespoons of flour.
4 tablespoons of sugar.
2 tablespoons of cocoa.
3 tablespoons of milk.
3 tablespoons of oil.
3 tablespoons of chocolate chips or peanut butter chips.
splash of vanilla extract.
